William Shoemaker is an exemplary student and a critical thinker dedicated to the never-ending pursuit of furthering his knowledge. Much in the sense that he actually does his homework and, like most automotive enthusiasts, spends the rest of his time scouring the internet for bizarre facts on highly pressing automotive topics such as “Why does the Porsche 928 have sun visors for the REAR passengers?”
William was born and raised in the beautiful and perpetually-on-fire San Diego, California, and is a native in the truest sense of the word despite never having owned a pair of Vans SK8-His. During High School, he spent much of his time studying, participating in choir, speech, and highly strenuous sports such as golf. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, catamaran sailing, and any version of camping that allows for the use of an air mattress. Like most young automotive enthusiasts, William also likes to spend much of his time (and an inordinate amount of money) modifying his car in what he believes is a tasteful manner, I.E. putting a spoiler and coilovers on a 15-year old Volvo station wagon.
Currently, William is studying Marketing at the highly esteemed Iowa State University. After spending a year and a half studying Architecture he figured it would be best to change to a career path that would allow him to remain creative while not driving him into a series of sleep-deprived psychotic episodes. Despite being removed from his native, temperate climate, he has done an admirable job of adjusting to the extreme midwestern environment that characterizes the central Iowa region. He has purchased several coats and a beanie.
Despite possessing decent writing skills in High School, William initially didn’t embrace these abilities when going to College. However, his time dedicated to writing essays has opened his mind to writing and is hoping to do some freelance work in the near future. Also, he managed to write this entire thing in the third person with a straight face.
